Becoming a real person.

· Samuel Hautamäki's blog.

For the past year I have decided to ditch being a pseudonymous person, before I used to go by the username @sirobsidian, but as of recently I have been moving towards using my real name, such as for my website for example samuelhautamaki.eu or my Codeberg.

Many people say, especially on web applications such as Mastodon, that, because it's anonymous (more like pseudonymous), people can say anything due to lack of any sort of consequences for anything they say.

I don't think it's correct to be able to say just about anything on social media, people online especially on sites like Twitter, feel the need to bully/harass people.

I do think that people deserve the right to privacy, you shouldn't need to put your real name on a website.

I make a statement against harassment, by using my real name and my real face. I don't hide myself.
